When I heard this, I first thought of my neighbor (Tom) who has a small business and how its going to affect him. I emailed him the following. If I could, I would email every small business owner in the country this same message:

Tom,
You'll need to start gathering the company tax ids for every vendor you do business with.

This is the first time I've heard about this "The hidden 1099 provision" with-in the Heath Care Bill.

As a way to improve compliance (and raise $9 billion over 10 years) the Obama administration has proposed requiring businesses to issue 1099s when they pay $600 or more in a year to a corporation for either property or services. Currently, such forms only have to be issued (and sent to the Internal Revenue Service) when more than $600 is paid to an individual. Both the House and the Senate included this tax gap proposal in the health overhaul bill. Look for it to be passed some time this year to "pay for" some or another priority.

The newest uproar is not so much anti American as anti Israel.
The Turkish people are very polite people even to your face when they don't support your views .
Spotted on a Turkish teenager the other day. "virgins wanted ... no experienced necessary".
Claire's contact with 3 Rabi from an organization called Jews United Against Zionism boils down to the following. "if you only see the blockage of Gaza as the only political issue, then you can follow their logic"
The problem is, they choose to only think in a single issue at a time.
Egypt is supporting the Gaza flotilla, because the Gazians will only move weapons through tunnels via Egypt. They don't want the Gaza problems as much as Israel.
Turkey has a new regional goal, be more important.

This was stopped when the public got involved.
The local town council stopped the process when opposition to the take over was brought to light
Politicians hate this .. when the public gets involved.

Is the Tea Party part of this?
This only proves that "you can make a difference ... you can change things". Your vote counts.
The town council credits the information being brought to their attention via blogs and talk radio.
This goes back to the civil rights case in which Supreme Court ruled in favor of the city in taking take private property for a business development to raise local revenue.
Overall the mood has changed
Politics is changing when the public demonstrates Flagrant Acts of Democracy.

Their religion tells them to bring the world under Islam.
The real danger is the silent jihad
In Europe teachers are being challenged in the classroom from children like on the subject of the Holocaust. The kids state in class that the teacher doesn't know the truth or claim its a lie or worst that the Jews deserved it.
Instead on correcting the child, the teachers are choosing just not teach about subjects like the Holocaust. Its easier and less confronting.
England is playing a very sad role currently. They are knighting people who are enemies of the systems of freedom like the Magna Carta
This only promotes the belief of anti western systems, which ties into an Islamic belief of the decay of the world..
Euro-Islam is being sold as a moderate form. But its really a make believe moderate.
This, in reality is far more dangerous then someone with a bomb
Europe expected the influx of the Muslims to have become more Europeanized and less Islamic by now, but the opposite has happened.
There doesn't seem to be any reason to think that this would be any different in America as well.

Who would Victor David Hansen pick in a Las Vegas style bet and what would be the spread between Julius Caesar vs. Alexander the Great?
Alexander's landscape was far greater, much more vast in conquest. But he didn't create anything afterwards. It was divided up into Greek monarchies which later turn over to the Romans.
Julius Caesar was very different. He had far fewer resources and large amount of civil unrest back in Rome. He was trying to create stable provinces and institutions that would integrate via a marriage with Rome. These provinces would later become places like Belgium, France & parts of Spain.
The achievements as a general, Julius Caesar wasn't as spectacular as Alexander. But Caesar's achievements were more realistic, rational and they latest longer. Caesar had a better mind then Alexander. Alexander was more of a romantic, a person of the day, where as Caesar had a mind of a century.

Bipartisan problems are the real problems
You’ll never see a 3rd. party in the debates again unless the supreme court gets involved.
What makes Democrat Presidents even more dangerous then the Republican Presidents, is what the Republican run into: ie. Liberal protest. For the Dems the prottest is muted . If the Republicans did what the Democrats Presidents are and have done, there would be rioting in the streets.
That’s why the problem can’t be solved.
When your augment is that you don’t want to get screwed by the other side, so you’ll vote for your side again, even through you are unhappy with your side’s actions.
Do we need Roman Tribunes again to look after the avg Joe?
WSJ reports members of congress are currently allowed to profit on insider trading. A bill to ban this has been blocked in the house for 6 years.
We need more avg Joes and avg Janes in congress. But once they are there, how do we keep them as avg Joes . Because they will become "one of them".
The following will be on the ballot in 2012. Obama, Palin, Gingrich & Romney. If you vote for anyone of them "nothing will change".
Challenge the power structure from the outside. It the only way to reform.
We're going to need to cut the outsider some slack

After the military victory in Iraq, we didn't scale down. we did the opposite and increased even to a point of building a burger king on the huge base
The cloud computer metaphor a good way of looking at this Network Warfare
After the thunder run in Iraq. we should have broken the army into thousands of groups of 50 vs. building huge bases.
One year later our approval was down to single digits, when just a year earlier it was over 75 percent.
China is great at push and retreat.
China is building a "small and many" navy.
Our navy is also looking at a small and many version.
Swarming is the new Surged
In Afghanistan our troops were on horseback for the sole purpose of making sure the aircraft could bomb any vehicle because are troops were on horseback.
People turned on Rumsfeld, he was a rock star at one time.
When you can't have a Roman peace, what do we do it now?
We really needed to have troops walking around in a swarming feel.
Only 10% out of the 30,000 increase really went outside of the wire
We need to move away from the super-carrier. Use troop transport.
In WWII we had 100 carriers, but most were the small carriers. These were extremely effective.
We should use 10 small raids,not to destroy, but to show the world the weapons are in Iran
We don't want to fight the old / last war
The question is. "Can the swarming work in a big war?"

Milt speaks with Bernard Wasserstein, Professor of history at University of Chicago about his new book, Barbarism and Civilization.
History of Europe in the 20th. Century. starts in 1914 and goes up to the present.
It was the worst of centuries in the case of Europe, but not for North America.
It was the best of centuries in case of life expectation, education, food supply, ... ect.
Wasserstein doesn't present the book as a forecast, but as analysis or chronicle.
There was a feeling of an age of progress and low crime before the Balkans broken out in fighting before WWI.
If Hitler was killed in WWI. would WWII have happened?
Was Hitler turned wicked by the gassing he received during WWI or was he a warped personality due in part of abnormal sexually parts?
Hitler was still blaming the Jews to the very end in the Berlin bunker.
The Nazi were out for broke in what they considered a noble process to remove not only the Jews, but the Poles, Russians POWs, Gypsy and Gays any one they considered unmoral or worthly.
The birth rate is currently too low in Europe even with the huge influx of Muslims. The Europeans are still having trouble with replacing themselves to keep a healthy economy.
Italy by 2050 will switch to mostly Muslims.
European countries are not Christian countries currently. They will be rainbow countries in the near future. In the Netherlands, there's a movement in which English may be the official language, because its the most used. Not because there's a large influx of English nationals.
There's still a East West divide in the Eastern part of Europe.
Russia is still not a modern economy.
The Russian economy just after the fall of the USSR, was only the same size of the Netherlands.
Jewish community is dying out in Europe, due to a low birth rate as well as immigration out of Europe.
Jews will be a minority between the area of Jordan river and the Mediterranean sea.
There will need to be some Jewish state territory retraction of some sort. in the very near future.
New Europe has been a soft treatment of collective behaviors, i.e. the death penalty, accepting of gay life style, women's equal rights, with a soft treatment on criminals, the mad, and its illegal to beat/ punish one's own children as a form of family discipline.
History is fun. A human need to know where you came from.
History isn't a guide to the future but history remains a mystery.

Down side of a civilization.
Do we need the toughness to survive?
Life cycle of history doesn't really work.
Good historians look at human trends from deep history over thousands of years, not hundreds.
Sparta was as great as it was, only because it had a culture's goal to grow the ultimate fighting man in Greece. Men were raw material to one goal.
They became corruptible & luxury loving which caused the fall of their city-state.
Like in Young Frankenstein, the Doctor wanted the Hans Delbrück's brain, but gets switched with a brain as Igor states, is from "Abby Normal" (a.k.a."Do Not Use This Brain! Abnormal").
You can give them (your fighting force) the best spears or guns, but if the men won't stand there to throw the spear or shoot the guns. It doesn't matter how good the weapons are.
In Afghanistan if we had to use the same weapons as the Afghans It would be a very interesting war.
Can you make society tougher.That's what the Nazis were trying.
In the end, we're currently most likely on the good side of the down-side. It the bad side of a downward society that sucks to be there.

The best advise I've heard recently from the talk radio, is simply, "make voicing your opinion a part of your lifestyle". So I stored both of my Senators and my Congressman's phone numbers into my phone's speed dial. I call at least once a week and just ask to leave a message for the Senator/Congressman. Each week, its a short, but clear message. And I've found each week there something else I want them to know. Because I feel that if I don't at least, tell them what I want, how can I complain on what they vote on.
Its a simply thing and I find it a great stress reducer.

There has to be a system that permanently changes consumer demand, which would permanently change what Detroit makes, which would attract more investment in battery technology to make electric cars, which would hugely help the expansion of the wind and solar industries — where the biggest drawback is the lack of batteries to store electrons when the wind isn’t blowing or the sun isn’t shining. A higher gas tax would drive all these systemic benefits.

The same is true in geopolitics. A gas tax reduces gasoline demand and keeps dollars in America, dries up funding for terrorists and reduces the clout of Iran and Russia at a time when Obama will be looking for greater leverage against petro-dictatorships. It reduces our current account deficit, which strengthens the dollar. It reduces U.S. carbon emissions driving climate change, which means more global respect for America. And it increases the incentives for U.S. innovation on clean cars and clean-tech.

Thus, with declining deaths in theater, the media narrative evolves. Old story: "America's soldiers are being cut down by violent irrational insurgents we can never hope to understand." New story: "Americans are being cut down by violent irrational soldiers we can never hope to understand." In the quagmire of these veterans' minds, every leafy Connecticut subdivision is Fallujah and every Dunkin' Donuts clerk an Abu Musab al-Zarqawi with an annoyingly perky manner.

It was the work of minutes for the Powerline website's John Hinderaker to discover that the "quiet phenomenon" is entirely unphenomenal: It didn't seem to occur to the Times to check whether the murder rate among recent veterans is higher than that of the general population of young men. It's not. Au contraire, the columnist Ralph Peters calculated that Iraq and Afghanistan vets are about a fifth as likely to murder you as the average 18-34 year-old American male. Better yet, the blogger Iowahawk meticulously drew his own "patchwork picture" of another "quiet phenomenon": the Denver newspaper columnist arrested for stalking, the Cincinnati TV reporter facing child-molestation charges, the Philadelphia anchorwoman who went on a violent drunken rampage. As Iowahawk's one-man investigative unit wondered:

Saddam pretended to have the W.M.D.s and played high stakes poker. When you lose, you lose big. The world community (U.N) agreed the W.M.D.s the were in place. They wrote sanction after sanction, for Saddam to come clean. Saddam had every chance in the world to prove to the world the W.M.D.s were not there. ......... What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas. McCain is not to be trusted.

With Fred out of the race, I'm afraid McCain is the front runner for the long run. The good thing, he's out of money and big shots aren't forking over any dough. The Conservatives are withholding their support. John is going to have to give in to them, if he wants to win. I just don't trust him, The only way I'll vote for McCain is if he chooses Fred as a running mate. The bad thing is, Fred is his friend and may sign-on with his old buddy McCain. I just hope Fred holds out for some real conservative valve commitments from thr big fat liar.

The Amr can see the future.
Democracy should not be the goal, a representative government should. A U.S. Packaged, one-size-fits-all solutions won’t work; well-researched, homegrown, culturally and socially aware ones will. So, while the intentions might be good (for the U.S. and the world) the methods could lead us into Hell. Ask the Afghanis and Iraqis. By now, they know better. Palestinians find themselves, as never before, so leaderless and fragmented, is not to resort to hyperbole. The Palestinian Authority today is broke, in disarray and ineffectual, so much so that a majority of Palestinians, according to the Jerusalem Media and Communication Center, believe the authority effectively no longer exists, and 30 percent say unabashedly that it would be in the “national interest” to abolish it.

"Geopolitics of Outsourcing"
In the West Bank, three young Palestinian men, (in their 20's), one of whom was studying engineering. Their hero was Yasir Arafat. They talked about having no hope, no jobs and no dignity, and they each nodded when one of them said they were all "suicide bombers in waiting." Compare this to young Indians and Pakistanies' hopes, self-confidence, dignity and optimism that comes from a society knowing it is producing wealth by tapping its own brains.

Is outsourcing good for American, No but its more than just economics. There's also geopolitics involded. It is inevitable in a networked world that our economy is going to shed certain low-wage, low-prestige jobs. To the extent that they go to places like India or Pakistan — where they are viewed as high-wage, high-prestige jobs — we make not only a more prosperous world, but a safer world for our own 20-year-olds.

One more shot for Free trade.

Our kids will still be dealing with this issue when they are adults, so I so figured I should be informed as possible. The site has links to sources of information on both sides of the issue. I believe a true understanding of the basic problem is needed vs.listening to the crap we Americans get via mainstream mass news broadcasts.
